According to ABC News , two officers with the Tempe, AZ, police department were shot while trying to serve an order of protection against a domestic violence suspect.
When the suspect opened fire, both officers returned fire, striking the man. The suspected shooter was later found dead.
Both officers were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
The department said in a Tweet , “Great news! One of our officers involved in today’s shooting was released from the hospital and is resting at home. Our other officer involved is in good condition and still receiving treatment at the hospital. Thank you all for your kind sentiments!”
